IMO GUBER: IHEDIOHA ZOOMS INTO ORLU ZONE

The Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives and a front line governorship aspirant under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)has rejigged his governorship campaign project after some weeks of lull. Having concluded his consultation visits to the nine local government areas in Owerri zone and just sparing one LGA in Okigwe zone, he has moved on... to the largest zone in the State, with his message of hope, truth, peace and equity. His first port of call was Isu L.G.A where he was welcomed by a mammoth crowd of Party faithfuls and non-partisan supporters. The visit to Isu also afforded him an opportunity to clear the air on the propaganda that he has given most board appointments to people from native Mbaise. Brandishing a paper containing about twenty four names, he went on to reel out the names of those who have directly benefited from the board appointments ceded to him as the Deputy Speaker. He revealed that out of these twenty four beneficiaries, eleven are from outside Imo State, while the other thirteen are equitably shared among the three Senatorial zones in the State, viz; Owerri zone-5, Orlu zone-4, and Okigwe zone-4. In a related development, Imo Youths under the aegis of Imo Youths for Equity (IYE) have insisted that the charter of equity is sacrosanct in determining who will be Governor of Imo State come 2015. Briefing the Press after their expanded executive council meeting, the President of the organization, Comrade Franklin Mbamarike argued that it is to the best interest of peace and equity for all politcal Parties to ensure that they do not give any aspirant from Orlu zone their guber ticket, else, that Party will risk loosing the election. According to him "As an Orlu youth and a progressive, I do not think it will be right for another Orlu man to rule this State beyond 2015. I do not want our neighbours from Owerri and Okigwe zones to see us as power drunk. We must step aside and allow other zones who have not had a shot at the governorship to do that. I am particularly biased for Owerri zone. However, this is my personal opinion, the PRO will make our communique available to you in due time." Some of the top Party leaders who joined the Deputy Speaker on his consultation to Isu are: Hon. Jones Onyereri, Hon. Irona, Hon. Ngozi Pat-Ekeji, Hon. Prince Obinna Okwara and many others. **************************************************************************** ETERE UGBA, ETERE AZU, IMO GA ADIRIRI MMA OZO!
