BETWEEN DESTINY AND DESIRE

FC JONES POST. After publishing an open letter in which I tried to convince Senator Hope Uzodimma to reconsider his aspiration to run for the governorship position in Imo State, I got a lot of reactions from those who love Uzodimma, as well as those who hate him. In all those reactions, one stood out: That which came from a beloved senior friend, mentor and an invaluable senior brother..., Honourable Sir Ebere Macdonald Kelechi who insisted that I should not be too human in my permutations. That while humans will be right to permute that Senator-Hope Odidika Uzodinma has got no clear chances of becoming Governor, God may be thinking otherwise. He made reference to Okorocha who nobody gave a chance, but today he is our Governor. In his analysis, God may have designed it that Hope Uzodimma will be Governor in 2015, and human permutations and resistance will not stop him. While I completely agree to the fact that God designs the destinations of men, and He gives power to whom He desires, I am also aware that God is fair and just, in fact, He is the epitome of Justice and Equity. I also believe that God can change His plans for humans, if He is convinced (Refer to the story of Abraham and Lot, when they pleaded of God, not to destroy Sodom and Gomorah, God gave them opportunity to convince Him that there are even ten righteous men in Sodom and Gomorah and for their sake, HE would have called off His plans to destroy that city of abominations. We are all familiar with the story of Hezekiah too.) Now, I want to seriously argue that God will listen to the voice of selfless majority like us, who are insisting out our sincere love for Senator Hope Uzodimma that he should not run for the governorship at this point, he still has unfinished businesses at the Senate, and certainly, he is not dieing today or tomorow, by 2019, if it is his destiny to be Governor of Imo State, God will be better disposed to helping him get it. God's destiny never expires. Senator Hope Uzodinma must think again and be sure that he is not confusing his personal desires with God's destiny for him. I keep telling my friends that every writer must have some gifts of clairvoyance and I know I have a lot of it. Without charging beloved Onwa Oyoko any dime, let me lead him a little into God's plans for him: God will be happier if Onwa Oyoko returns to the Senate and angle around becoming the deputy President of the Senate. God will not be happy if Onwa Oyoko in his desire to become our Governor loses out of both. IMO GA ADI MMA OZO!
