President Jonathan visits Atiku in Yola

GOODLUCK-ATIKU

A report gathered that, President Goodluck Jonathan visited former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in Yola on Friday in what has been termed a move by the Peoples Democratic Party to woo back Atiku, who is now in the All Progressives Congress.
An online medium, reports that the President, who visited unannounced, and the ex-vice president discussed the possibility of the latter rejoining the PDP, which he left last year beside other issues.
While Atiku has confirmed the visit of Jonathan, he denied that the President asked him to head an interim government.
He has also restated that he would not leave the APC.
Atiku contested the presidential primary of the opposition party in December, but could not pick the ticket, which a former Head of State, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari(retd.), clinched.
The former vice president has, however, continued to fuel speculation that he could leave the APC to rejoin the ruling PDP as he is rarely seen at any of the former’s presidential rallies, save the one in Yola, Adamawa State, his home state, in February.
