Permanent force for N’East

March 19, 2015 : acidity

I doff my hat to the Joint Task Forces drawn from the Nigerian Army, Air Force and other security agencies for successfully routing the Boko Haram in many towns in the North-East!
Hitherto, the sect has turned the whole region into a theatre of war and sought for external assistance from ISIS terrorist group. It was humorous watching the Cable News Network footage on ISIS last week callously destroying ancient artefacts in areas of their strongholds! That shows the extent of their destruction can go and we must stop the link with local extreme group!
Therefore, there is an urgent need for the next president on March, 28th, 2015 to work in concert with Chad, Cameroon and Niger governments with a view to dealing with the sect more decisively. If we allow that to happen and not sustaining, consolidating our achievements, it means that our collective efforts, time, funding the war, lives and properties lost are in vain. Terrorism today is a global concern, the African Union and Western powers should assist the aforementioned countries for the citing, designing, constructing and equipping the permanent military bases in each country’s border areas for easy patrol/enforcement/combat of respective troops.
