Gone are the days when these artist rocked the clubs and
airwaves,basically not much has been heard of them musically. The likes
of Styl-plus, Bigiano, Faze and so many others are now placed in the
history books of Nigerian music. See a list of the once famous groups
and artists that are off the scene in Nigerian music:
W4
Nigerian Born Superstar “W4” started doing music professionally in
2005 but his big break came with the massive hit song ‘Control’ in 2012.
Nothing much can be said about him since after such big hit.
Styl-Plus
The once popular R&B group Styl-Plus is a made up four boys, Styl
Plus was one of the hit-makers in the Nigerian music scene in 2003 when
they released two monster hits, Olufunmi and Runaway.
Weird Mc
The Allen avenue crooner, weird MC’s consistency in the past fe years
has been very concerning. Like we all expect, the constant churning out
hits isnt what the situation seems to be.
Bigiano
In 2008, Bigiano made a compelling appearance on the music scene with
the monster hit track, ‘Shayo’ and went on to become popular. Babalola
Gabriel, aka Bigiano has been off the music scene for about four years
after his hit-song, Shayo shot him to the limelight.
FlowSick
Flowsick, is the young talented musician behind the hit single,
‘Lowkey’. He parted ways with his record label sometime back is now
officially back to his record label, kollertunz.
DJinee
Djinee is a Nigerian urban artist with a rock edge. In a short while,
he has achieved a track record of hit songs but soon faded away before
we could say jack.
Jeremiah Gyang
He’s best known as the singer behind the hit song “Na Ba Ka”.
Talented Jeremiah Gyang is one of the few mainstream Nigerian vocalists
from Northern Nigeria. Nothing much has been heard from him musically
since he got married on the 28th of August 2010.
BlackFace
Former member of the non existent singing group Plantashun Boiz,
Black Faze, real name Ahmedu Obiabo, is attempting to pick up the pieces
of his once thriving music career, having gone underground for so long.
Faze
Chibuzor Oji better known by his stage name Faze is a Nigerian
musician and actor. He’s a member of the defunct group Plantashun boiz,
since the group split, his group member 2face idibia has been the most
consistent.
Sauce Kid now SINZU
Popularly referred to as Oluwasauce kid baba who is now formally
referred to has Sinzu, his undoubtably one of Nigeria’s best rapper but
not much has been heard of him musically recently.
Rhymzo
Sensational artiste popularly referred to as Rhymzo, has totally gone
off track in the Nigerian Music industry. Since Rhymzo has had an
unending misunderstanding with his former record label boss, Alex he has
very much gone off the music radar.
Azadus
Azadus is clearly a Nigerian music industry veteran whose various
comeback attempt hasnt done much for him, he’s an artist we hope to
still get great music from.
GT The Guitarman
Once signed to Storm record label as an R&B artist, GT the
guitarman though barely released singles but his features in other music
song made Nigerians realised, he’s a talented artist
Alariwo
Alariwo of Africa has carved a niche for himself in the music
industry. From the time he released his debut album- Yawa go gas, the
Cross-over King has released fusion of other songs but not much is known
about his musical career these days.
Sasha P
Sasha as we hear it as quit the label of Storm records,
Self-proclaimed first lady of Nigerian hip-hop was made the Ekiti State
cultural ambassador . The talented rapper has also turned fashion
designer.
Eddy, Tettula & Idris – REMEDY
Eddy Montana, a former member of the defunct musical group, Remedies,
has been living amidst controversies. Controversies that threatened his
