To say Samuel Eto’s stay at Sampdoria so far has been turbulent would be an understatement with the striker coming close to leave the club after just one week. Sampdoria president, Massimo Ferrero has not helped the already volatile situation as he described the former Chelsea forward as a rip off, questioning the former Cameroon international’s age.

etooAfter just one week with Sampdoria, Eto’o was set to tear his contract up after his refusal to attend an extra training session deteriorated into a huge row with the club’s management . Eto’o who is yet to score for Sampdoria despite making three appearances told the club he didn’t feel he could continue at Sampdoria but with the intervention of Mihajlovic, manager of Sampdoria, Eto’o stayed. In his recent interview with Canale 5 however, Ferrero took shots at Eto’o again. “Eto’o’s somehow in between a champion and a rip-off,” Ferrero told Canale 5. “I am not the one who needs to comment on him. Eto’o is Eto’o.” “Mourinho wondered how old he was and we haven’t worked that out yet either,” he added.
