Nigerians reactions to AFCON 2015 stumble

Posted by: @femi4arsenal November 19, 2014
Nigeria failed to beat South Africa in a final round of AFCON 2015 qualifiers and the repercussion means the Super Eagles will play no part in the tournament billed for Equatorial Guinea.
It was an entirely frustrating encounter for the home fans, as lackluster display coupled with indecisiveness in the final third saw the Super Eagles waste glorious chances.
Against the run of play in the closing stages of the first half, the visitors took the lead courtesy of a mouth watering solo run by Tokelo RantieAhmed Musa had a night to forget

The 24-year old soon doubled the advantage for Bafana Bafana very early on in the second half. The onus was on the away team to run riot, but the introduction of Sone Aluko was the decisive factor in a comeback for Nigeria. The Hull City striker did get a brace but it wasn’t enough for the Eagles to book a ticket to Equatorial Guinea next year.

Femi asked some ardent Nigerian fans for their honest opinion about the game.
Santos from Niger state:
I really don’t know what to say. But I feel our defense let us down throughout the qualification phase. Am surprised Keshi never tried to ameliorate the situation.

Olubunmi from Lagos:
Keshi is too proud. He played those players in a position they weren’t accustomed too.
Too proud to call players that would help you qualify.

Enigma from Lagos:
They thought that they had done the job by beating Congo. Administrative problems took its toll. Everyone wanted to be a hero so the team suffered. They also had these stupid confidence on their track record against South Africa.

Andrew from London:
What a pathetic display. Cant put it into words. Its obvious that Keshi must go. He is clueless

Fred from Makurdi:
I was disappointed. We missed so many chances. I blame Ahmed Musa. He isn’t developing. Keshi must leave now.

Sunny from Abuja:
So we wont play in Afcon 2015. Don’t know what to say. Very painful but blame the team. Keshi must go.
