2015: A surest win-win Formula For APC

Atiku and BuhariAs the All Progressives Congress (APC) gets ready to hold its primaries for the purpose of choosing a presidential candidate to fly the party’s flag in the 2015 election, Nigerians are eagerly awaiting who the party will settle for from the aspirants who have indicated interest in the race.
The aspirants in the APC are former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Head of State, Muhammadu Buhari, Kano State governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and Publisher of Leadership newspaper, Sam Nda- Isaiah.
Any of these aspirants that emerges as the party flag bearer would have to face the incumbent President and candidate of the ruling party, PDP, Dr Goodluck Jonathan. In view of the fact that Jonathan has been on the presidential saddle for the past six years, and has at his disposal, all the apparatus of state, including the hefty financial power of the federal government; the APC has to look carefully and eschew sentiment in its choice of candidate. If the PDP candidate was a greenhorn who is about to taste power for the first time, it would suffice for the party to look in the direction of any of the younger aspirants.
However, considering the fact that the chosen APC candidate would be confronting the awesome power of the Federal Government, the nationwide institution called the PDP which is used to power and how to get it, to confront the PDP candidate would be no tea party. It would require that the APC choose from these aspirants that one of the quartet that can complement the appeal of the party.
Going by the above and based on what the public know about the two leading aspirants namely General Buhari and Atiku Abubakar, the latter has more of what is required to confront the PDP candidate. In the first place, General Buhari has told all who cares to listen that he is the poorest of all the presidential hopefuls in his party, and of course he would be no match financially for the PDP sole candidate, Goodluck Jonathan who has transformed from a shoeless poor person to a money bag, no thanks to all the stories of missing public funds in the NNPC and other government establishments. President Jonathan’s financial power would of course be hugely supplemented by business moguls and cronies of his who have benefitted immensely at the expense of Nigerians through his economic programmes and policies.
Also, in a rather comical disclosure, General Buhari told the nation that he took a bank loan before he could afford the purchase of the presidential nomination form of his party, the APC. This means that clearly, the former Head of State, who failed to amass wealth while in power as is customary in Nigeria, may not be able to prosecute the presidential election given the huge role money plays in the contemporary politics of the country. The time is long past when Nigerians voted for people based on how good and trustworthy they are. Politics now has been monetised heavily and the general poverty and unemployment engendered by the six year misrule of President Jonathan means that financial power which enables candidates to give inducement to voters are important.
Atiku Abubakar, a man that is financially solvent and a successful businessman comes in here. While his financial ability cannot match that of the incumbent and the PDP as a group, he can at least mobilise resources that will go a long way to beef up the financial capacity of the APC to go into the presidential race with confidence. Atiku, as an astute businessman and a popular business leader would also be able to attract some members of the elite business community to make donations that can jack up the purse of the APC.
The APC should take a second and close look at the Turaki Adamawa, he is the person the party needs.
Yet another good quality of the Turaki Adamawa that recommends him highly for the eventual success of APC’s presidential quest is the fact that he is a religious moderate and cannot be associated with any form of extremist views. The Turaki differs here from his opposite number and leading party man General Buhari, who unfortunately does not engender much confidence to certain religious communities in the country. It is really sad that over the years, no matter how hard he has tried, the retired soldier from Katsina has been unable to shake off the label or toga of religious intolerance and fundamentalism. It is important that the APC does not waste valuable time required to run an issue- based campaign which Atiku is adept at, to be bogged down by the effort to minimise hostility towards the Katsina general by a cross section of Nigerians uncomfortable with his religious views.
It needs be recalled that in the 2011 presidential elections, Buhari could not campaign in some South- south States like Bayelsa, and actually got zero vote from those areas. This cannot happen with an Atiku Abubakar, whose reputation is well- known and who have friends, allies and supporters across the social and political divide of the country.

By prof acidity
The above pictures expose the sorry stage of our dear Imo State. The pictures are found on the bill board advert erected by one of the frontline Imo State governorship contenders under People Democratic Party PDP platform, Dr Obioma Sylvester Agomuoh. Trumpeta reporter exclusively observed the congested scene caused by the said giant billboard advert sited at the popular Ahiara junction in Ahiazu Mbaise Council Area of Imo State.
This concept which was the brain child of the Imo State governorship hopeful, Dr Agomuoh attracted attention from every quarter within the axis as people who were keenly watching the picture content of the billboard on Wednesday 26th November, 2014 raised strong argument beconing on reason why Dr. Agomuoh instead of inserting his personal picture on the billboard decided to garnish the board with the issues bordering the society. It is therefore remains a question for Imolites to answer as the issue is no longer rate base on who have too much money to rule Imo, but who wants to be a servant of Imolites by ensuring good governance that will guarantee qualitative education, world class healthcare delivery, jobs creation, good road network, economic development, constant electricity and water supply.
On this notion, Dr Obioma sylvester Agomuoh who spoke to our reporter rolled out some of his strategies that would shutdown unemployment situation if elected the Imo State Governor in 2015 “ I will be a servant to Imolites while they will be masters.
Approximately 54 years after Nigeria Independence, our communities are still suffering from abject poverty, shading food items on the ground and bad road network”, the governorship hopeful enumerated.

“My government will create 400 millionaires in dollars in 4 years. I will create 2.75million direct jobs and two million indirect jobs in Imo State. I will build international Airport and American consulate in Imo State. There will be uninterrupted silicon rally in Imo for effective information system that will be used to control technologies within Nigeria, Africa and Asia which will also form the basis of the jobs creation. My government will encourage the poor by giving them money but will not give out money to rich men as any money given to them will be spent in abroad while poor men spend their money within the country which perhaps promote our economy; Dr Agomuoh added.
The governorship hopeful further pointed out other areas which his government will over hall to include health, road, education, food, electricity and water supply.
“I will establish a world class healthcare delivery in Imo State. Nobody will ever dream of travelling to India for medical attention in my regime”, he concluded.

The counterfeit and unwholesome products which were destroyed include drugs/vaccines, food, packaging materials, pesticides, labels, chemicals, cosmetics and medical devices.

There was unrest on the campus of Obafemi Awolowo University, Osun State, southwest Nigeria, on Friday, 28 November, 2014 as students of the institution hauled stones and sticks at President Goodluck Jonathan during his visit to the campus.

Imo APC Reserves Guber Ticket For Rochas

APC.
Despite his inability to publicly make a categorical statement and declare which office to seek for in 2015 election, Trumpeta can reveal that Imo state Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has APC governorship ticket in his kitty, courtesy of the state arm of the party.
The Imo APC governorship primaries will therefore be a fait accompli to confirm the one-way traffic of the exercise meant to favour the incumbent.
Indications that the verbal expressions of governor Okorocha about running for the Presidency in 2015 is a decoy to deceive unsuspecting APC members about his next political destination emerged on Sunday when he surreptitiously made intentions for running for governor. While the governor goes about claiming to be interested in becoming Nigeria’s President next year, he is yet collect Presidential form after collecting the expression of interest form. Ironically, Okorocha is yet to return the national office of the party any from to run for the number one position in the country as the likes of Retired Gen Mohammed Buhari and Ababakar Atiku have done so.
A startling revelation again emerged on Sunday that Okorocha is deeply interested in obtaining a second tenure as governor of Imo state. In a party meeting with APC stakeholders from Owerri and Okigwe zones held at the Imo International Convention Centre, IICC, Owerri, on Sunday Okorocha asked if anybody is running under APC platform and all members chorused “No” in response.
The governor in acknowledging their responses that nobody is running for the governorship position, thanked them for finding him worthy as a governor and promised not to disappoint them since he will offer himself to serve them again in that capacity.
Even as the governor 24 hours later informed South East APC delegates of his unquenchable desire to run for the presidency, Trumpeta was informed that a top Aide of the governor has secretly obtained the APC guber form for him for 2015 election. The plot which has been earlier revealed by Trumpeta will act as plan B option for Okorocha should he fail to get what he wants at the federal level.
Authoritative party sources informed Trumpeta that Okorocha will run for the governorship and has a reserved APC guber ticket kept by the party in Imo.
It would be recalled that at the close of sale of forms for 2015 elections in Imo APC, no aspirant was publicly announced to have picked the governorship form from the IMSU Roundabout office of the state party office in Owerri.
This Newspaper gathered that to pull the wool over the eyes of the people of the state especially APC people, Okorocha muted the idea of mock primaries for the party in the state. The shadowy exercise according to the party sources is to undermine the orthodox practice of open primaries meant to select candidates. In the process of observing the awkward mock primaries, there will be no governorship primaries and he will be rail-rolled to pick the governorship ticket of APC.
A top office holder in Imo state government is said to have secretly obtained the APC form for the governor even as speculations have continued to trail issues concerning the party’s governorship ticket in Imo.

Buhari’s N1m unsettles Imo APC Delegates

Buhari
By tunji adedeji
Ahead of the December 10 National Convention of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Imo State delegates to the exercise have been thrown into a state of confusion by the N1m largess given to them by a presidential aspirant, Muhamed Buhari.
The ex-head of state who visited Imo this week met with the delegates at the Regent Hotels, Owerri, during which he lobbied them to vote for him even when their principal, Governor Rochas Okorocha is also reported to be running for the same ticket.
Trumpeta gathered that given the large turnout of APC delegate present during the visit of the former head of state there was a bit confusion between the leadership and the party faithful as they could not come to terms over the sharing formular of N1million meant to lobby them to vote for him.
Mr Buhari who recently launched a crowd sourcing campaign on social Media to raise funds for the primaries had in October revealed how he took loam and borrowed from several banks to procure the APC Presidential nomination and expression of interest form which cost 27.5 million.
The formal military leader who expressed dismay over cost of nomination from which he described as expensive and how he took loan and borrowed from several banks to purchase his form.
He expressed regret he couldn’t influence the amount to be out down as in the case of lands and disabled that intend to participate.

Ideato North APC In Disarray, Members Pass No Confidence Vote In Party Chairman

by onyekachi eze
The sledge harmer of the members of All Progressive Congress (APC) of Ideato North LGA has fallen on the incumbent chairman of the party Nze Luke Ekwueme and the secretary, Mrs. Ijeoma Obiezu respectively over alleged gross misconduct and misappropriation of LGA party’s funds.
According to documents made available to this Newspaper which was dully signed by members and party executives of Ideato North LGA, it said the chairman attracted the wrath of the members following several charges of allegation against his position which was never in tandem with the party’s manifesto on principles, stressing that his era is the worst in the history of the area.
It was further alleged that Nze Ekwueme due to his insatiable quest for-easy lucre decided not to give account to all the funds realized from Aspirants from Ideato North forgetting the motive for the donation involving renovation and payment of the LGA party’s secretariat.
The aggrieved members alleged that as party’s primary is around the corner, they are yet to harmonize because of the dormancy and non-challant attitude of the chairman whom they described as “only being interested in personal intents “rather than working assiduously for the success of the party ahead 2015 polls”. Also, they averred that action they just took is a bold step towards ensuring that Governor Rochas Okorocha is voted back into Douglas House, adding that if Nze Ekeueme and the secretary are left to pilot the affairs of the party, there will be no victory for APC in Ideato North.
Meanwhile, they categorically stated that he, Nze Ekwueme ceases to be their chairman, and should not be spotted acting as one as agreed by the general public and executive of Ideato North LGA for peace, love and tranquility to reign.

Collection Of Civil Service Job Forms 3 Applicants Collapse At State Secretariate

10000
By peter uzoma
Last Tuesday, it was a fanfare of credential exhibition as over five thousand Imo State Youth applicants thronged the state Civil Service Commission at the state secretariat, Owerri, to pick and complete the form CSCI which the commission is issuing to Imo applicants preparatory to employment following the lifting of ban on employment by the Okorocha-led government.
At the Commissions notice board, Trumpeta saw over sixty-five advertised vacancies of various cadres pasted on it. The applicants where struggling to have a glimpse at the notice board so as to know where they fall.
Right inside the block housing the commission, the applicants “littered” everywhere struggling to assess the forms which were issued out by staff of the commission operating behind a door protector of the commission’s conference hall. The applicants besieged every window of the hall.
Some pregnant applicants and those cuddling their babies were seen standing aloft and watching helplessly from their vantage positions while the females who are “freer” and the male counterparts fight for the forms.
At about 2pm, three of the applicants collapsed because of the intensity of the sun but were quickly revived by some good Samaritans.
There was another stampede some hours later when an aggrieved applicant started sprinkling the pure water sachet he was drinking following a message which spread like wild fire that only those who had the “Youth Must Work” appointment letters or NYSC discharged certificate would benefit from the exercise.
The stampede culminated into a near riot as the applicants embarked upon destruction spree breaking doors and windows, tables and chairs when it was discovered that a lady had started suffering miscarriage as a result of the struggle. The youths became more aggrieved when officials of the commission started asking for money before issuing out the CSCI forms.
Some of the applicants who spoke to Trumpeta under strict anonymity wondered why the forms CSCI were not sent to the “Youth Must Work” beneficiaries in their places of deployment for them to fill and return to the commission.
Others who spoke described the entire exercise as political gimmick Governor Okorocha is using to lure the youths to vote for him come 2015. They wondered the rationale behind the lifting of ban on unemployment few months to election since he condemned the 10,000 job opportunities Ohakim gave to Imo youths through an organized process.
Meanwhile, an inside source in the commission told Trumpeta that political appointees have hijacked the forms for distribution to some youths who would assist them come 2015.
The source revealed that the exercise at the commission was just a smoke screen.

Jim Iyke Needs Another Deliverance From 7 Evil Spirit

emma ehumadu brain surgery

in March 2014, an actor, Emma Ehumadu aka Totolos was involved in a ghastly auto accident while on a movie set in Asaba, Delta State.

Emma suffered a head injury from the accident and went into coma. After being treated in Nigeria, he was taken abroad for further treatment before returning to Nigeria to continue what he knows what to do best, acting.
It was said that Nollywood ‘bad boy’ actor, Jim Iyke, who was also on the same set, was involved in the accident, but did not suffer any injury.
Months after the unfortunate incident, Emma Ehumade has lashed out at his colleague, Jim Iyke, accusing him of being insensitive to other people’s problems.
He said Jim Iyke needs further deliverance because according to him, the one earlier performed by Prophet TB Joshua at his Synagogue church some months ago was not enough.
“Jim Iyke needs another deliverance, the one at Synagogue didn’t work on him, it is like seven more evil spirits entered into him the moment he left Synagogue church. He was reckless with his driving which led to the accident that nearly killed me, if not for God.
“After all said and done, he abandoned me without even a check to know how the surgery went. I wonder how he reasons? He just carried on with his life like no one matters except him and him alone. If I had died, he wouldn’t have cared too either. He would have still carried on like nothing happened. But God is above man…am still here and even better,” Emma told Diamond Celebrities.

Footballer Emmanuel Adebayor reportedly ejects mum from mansion, accuses her of witchcraft

Adebayor-and-mum
Togo captain Emmauel Adebayor is said to have have ejected his mother madam Alice Adebayor from the US$ 1.5million he bought for the

family. It is reported that he is at logger-heads with his relatives who he accused of doing rituals against him.He accuses the mum of using “Juju” against him , to end his career
Adebayor’s cousin Margaret told Peace FM Power Sports
“For the past six years Adebayor has rejected his mother and his immediate family whilst doing charity outside on the premise that our mother is a witch,We have been thinking of his future as a footballer and did not want this issue out in the media but it is becoming too much.As at now, our mother is selling polythene bags, padlocks and other things on the border (Ghana/Togo frontier). Our mother has not seen him for more than a year and he rejects her calls anytime…our mother is not calling him for his money; she just wants to see him because she loves him very muchCould you believe Adebayor ordered his machomen to sack our mother and his own mother from a house he built in Togo claiming she is a witch? (Continue)

As we speak our mother lives in an apartment rented by our junior brother, Kola Adebayor, who currently lives in Germany. My mother weeps bitterly about the issue every day.  Anytime his mother or any of us (his close relatives) call and he realizes, he will quickly cut the call. “I personally supervised the building of his house in Trassaco and he gave us an apartment in the house. But all of a sudden he changed his attitude towards us, one afternoon his machomen came to drive us away from the house.”
Adebayor however denied the allegations although he admitted his relationship with his family has been severed. He told Peace Fm
“Obviously I’m not a pastor, I am a footballer so I cannot point out a witch. I never sacked my mum from the house; she decided to leave the house…But how am I going to be in touch with my mum if my mum is the one telling everyone that my work will not go forward, so I will just be on my side and do my thing. They should stop talking talking, they should stop doing Juju on me; they should leave me alone…The one talking there and calling herself my sister I bought a house in East Legon for $1.2m…can you imagine that sister went to rent the house without my knowledge?”
According to the former Arsenal star for this issue to be resolved, he called them about a year ago when his brother died and told them to stop going to juju people and sit down at home.
“They don’t listen to me so I don’t know how to solve this now,They shared my houses, they shared my cars, they say if he dies this car is for you, this house is for you, can you imagine? Right now they don’t need money…If they claim I am not looking after my mother, we are seven and so why can’t the rest do it?

“Ask my sister Margaret whether I did not build them a house in East Legon, and what happened to it? I bought my younger sister Lucia a car worth $35,000, where is it?If they want the issue resolved they should stop spreading the news and let’s meet to resolve it but they aren’t willing to do s

A close associate of the President of Chad, Idriss Déby, has been arrested for providing weapons for the Boko Haram.
The suspect, Mahamat Bichara Gnoti, was reported to have been arrested on the Chadian-Sudan border with 19 SAM2 missiles. He was alleged to have purchased the missiles from the Sudanese army for Boko Haram terrorists.
Gnoti claimed that President Idriss Déby gave him “the funds to purchase the weapons, … waved a presidential pass issued to him by Mr Deby’s office in order to get past border guards, but was stopped and searched by the guards who found the deadly weapons on him,” reports Sahara Reporters, citing a Cameroonian investigative journalist, Bisong Etahoben.
The arrest may lay credence to the suspicion of many that the Chadian leader was one of the people fueling insurgency in Nigeria. He was accused of setting up Nigeria on the botched ceasefire deal brokered by him, where the country was said to have lost millions of dollars in search for lasting peace for the country and the release of over 200 Chibok girls abducted by the Boko Haram on April 14.

2015: Lagos Prophet Makes Shocking Revelation

by Nkem Ikeke,
The General Overseer of Galilee Christian Center in Lagos, Prophet Williams Onuoha, has predicted that the current governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, would become Nigeria’s president in 2015.
According to him, for this to happen, Okorocha would have to adhere to God’s direction, adding that only a running mate from the South West region can give him the presidency.
In a recent interview with Daily Sun, Onuoha, who is seen and referred to by many who attend his church as a highly gifted prophet of God, said he saw the vision in 2011 and now it’s coming to pass.
Gov Rochas Okorocha
Gov Rochas Okorocha
In 2011, I saw in a vision that the present governor of Imo State Owelle Rochas Okorocha will be president in 2015. And in one of the national dailies recently, the governor said he would be president in 2015 and that it had been prophesied. True. I had seen this vision, but there are things that needs to be done before this prophesy can come to pass and one of them is that only a running mate from the South West region can give him the presidency.

NASS Fracas: Tambuwal, Others Assaulted Police Officers, Evaded Due Process – Force Headquarters

NASSFollowing the fracas which ensued between some members of the House of Representatives and detachment of policemen deployed to the National Assembly on Thursday, the Force Headquarters has blamed the Speaker, Aminu Tambuwal, for the breakdown of law and order.
Policemen stationed at the gate of the National Assembly had earlier today denied Mr. Tambuwal and some federal lawmakers entry to the sprawling assembly complex where they were slated to deliberate on President Goodluck Jonathan’s letter to the House of Representatives, requesting their approval for the extension of emergency rule in three Northeastern states of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe.
Despite the speaker identifying himself to a senior police officer present and pleading with them to open the gates so he could enter, the security operatives remained adamant until some rep members forcefully pushed the gates apart and charged in. The development forced anti-riot policemen to shoot tear-gas canisters in a failed bid to disperse them, resulting in chaos.
Justifying the action, which has been condemned by the leading opposition party, the All Progressives Congress, a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, Acting CP Emmanuel Chuwkwu, said the unusual high presence of policemen at the National Assembly complex was informed by “intelligence report of a likely invasion of the House of Representatives by hoodlums and thugs” and the need to prevent a breakdown of law and order.
According to the statement, the Police condoned the area and began screening of all members and visitors alike before they were allowed to enter the premises.
“In the course of this lawful exercise”, the statement explained that Mr. Tambuwal arrived the venue with a “motley crowd, who broke the cordon, assaulted the Police and evaded due process and the Police had the duty to restore order and normalcy, using lawful means.
“The IGP seizes this medium to warn all political actors and their followers to respect constituted authority and due process and to desist from the use of thugs to pursue their agenda.
“The Nigeria Police shall continually apply all lawful means to prevent a breakdown of law and order in all segments of the society and shall apply the full weight of the law on any political actor who violates the peace and security of the nation”, the statement concluded.

Eggon/Fulani Clash: PDP Urges FG To Declare State Of Emergency In Nasarawa

Umaru Al-MakuraThe Peoples Democratic Party has expressed concern over the renewed violence between Fulani mercenaries and Eggon ethnic group in Nasarawa State with a call going out to the federal government to declare emergency rule in the state.
The PDP Chairman in Nasarawa State, Chief Yonana Ilia, tabled the demand on behalf of the party’s Stakeholders numbering over 20 during a press briefing on Thursday in Abuja.
At the briefing, immediate-past Minister of Information, Mr. Labaran Maku, denied defecting to the All Progressives Congress, saying the posters insinuating his exit to APC was the handiwork of his political detractors.
Ilia said, “The attacks, which are highly professional and military in nature, are carried out either in the night, early hours of the morning or even in broad daylight as the mercenaries have absolute superiority in weaponry and freedom of movement. Therefore calling for a state of emergency in Nasarawa state is necessary and will not be out of place.
“We therefore call on the citizens of the state to be calm and go about their businesses as there is no amount of intimidation from the part of government, be it executive or judiciary that will stop the PDP from clinching power in 2015. I therefore call on the Federal Government to as a matter of urgency, look into security decay of the state so as to proffer lasting solution to it”.

Nigerians reactions to AFCON 2015 stumble

Posted by: @femi4arsenal November 19, 2014
Nigeria failed to beat South Africa in a final round of AFCON 2015 qualifiers and the repercussion means the Super Eagles will play no part in the tournament billed for Equatorial Guinea.
It was an entirely frustrating encounter for the home fans, as lackluster display coupled with indecisiveness in the final third saw the Super Eagles waste glorious chances.
Against the run of play in the closing stages of the first half, the visitors took the lead courtesy of a mouth watering solo run by Tokelo RantieAhmed Musa had a night to forget
Ahmed Musa had a night to forget
The 24-year old soon doubled the advantage for Bafana Bafana very early on in the second half. The onus was on the away team to run riot, but the introduction of Sone Aluko was the decisive factor in a comeback for Nigeria. The Hull City striker did get a brace but it wasn’t enough for the Eagles to book a ticket to Equatorial Guinea next year.

Femi asked some ardent Nigerian fans for their honest opinion about the game.
Santos from Niger state:
I really don’t know what to say. But I feel our defense let us down throughout the qualification phase. Am surprised Keshi never tried to ameliorate the situation.

Olubunmi from Lagos:
Keshi is too proud. He played those players in a position they weren’t accustomed too.
Too proud to call players that would help you qualify.

Enigma from Lagos:
They thought that they had done the job by beating Congo. Administrative problems took its toll. Everyone wanted to be a hero so the team suffered. They also had these stupid confidence on their track record against South Africa.

Andrew from London:
What a pathetic display. Cant put it into words. Its obvious that Keshi must go. He is clueless

Fred from Makurdi:
I was disappointed. We missed so many chances. I blame Ahmed Musa. He isn’t developing. Keshi must leave now.

Sunny from Abuja:
So we wont play in Afcon 2015. Don’t know what to say. Very painful but blame the team. Keshi must go.

Deputies Of Imo PDP Guber Aspirants Exposed How Governorship Hopefuls Want To Win Primaries With Choice Of Running Mates

Determined to emerge victorious at the end of the party primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Imo State Chapter, the governorship aspirants are devising several means to win the war.
Still battling over the outcome of the delegate lists after the conduct of the ward congresses across the 27 LGAs of the state, Trumpeta is informed that a new trend is in vogue for the aspirants. And the new method of winning the primaries is choice of running mates.
Though running mates are made after aspirants had emerged winners of party primaries to become candidates. But the case of Imo appears to be different with aspirants dangling deputy governorship tickets to several political gladiators to win their support.
Trumpeta gathered on good authority that frontline aspirants like Senator Ifeanyi Araraume, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha, Chief Ikedi Ohakim Rt Hon Bethel Amadi and others are engaged in political permutation of seeking support through the running mate bate.
It was further learnt from various political camps and campaign organizations of guber aspirants that the outcome of PDP delegates election warranted fresh alignments across borderlines.
This newspaper exclusively learnt that to cross the hurdle and emerge tops, Araraume despite protesting about the conduct of the Nov 1 2014 Ward congresses is making a serious reachout to Owerri zone where it is expected his deputy will come from if he eventually emerges PDP flagbearer. It would be recalled that in 2007 election when Araraume ran under PDP platform in the uneventful election that his party never gave him support, another aspirant Bar Bethel Nzimako, from Owerri West in Owerri zone was the running mate. However, 2015 appears different as Araraume is said to be looking toward Ikeduru LGA though in the same Owerri zone.
A top notcher of the PDP and vital political king maker of the council is believed to be working in partnership with the Okigwe zone former Senator.
There are insinuations in various quarters that Araraume may want the votes of Ikeduru by hooking the wife of the National leader and progenitor of the Owerri zonal political form, OZOPOLF, Prince Charles Amadi (Charlvon), Princes Yvonne Charles Amadi. Though, this newspaper is yet to officially confirm the development but sources revealed that considering the influence and political weight of Charlvon through his OZOPOLF structure that cuts across the nine councils of Owerri, he is one of the most sought after, hence his wife tipped as possible deputy to Araraume for 2015 election.
That decision, it was noted may have displaced an astute henchman of Araraume, Okenze Sylvester Obinnna from Ngor Okpala said to be a close ally of the Senator expected to have merited the position.
A source close to the campaign team of Araraume commenting on the matter revealed that the choice of Princes Amadi, apart from its gender sensitive gains is a ploy to woo the formidable OZOPOLF machine into the political structure of the two-time Senator and endorse his candidature.
Another frontline governorship aspirant of PDP said to be using the running mate bargain to win more support ahead the party primaries is the camp of Ihedioha. Having become an endangered specie among the pack of aspirants considering the volumes of attack targeted at his person, those close to the Deputy Speaker revealed that the available option to make amends and not only consolidate but win more support is choice of running mate. Though, the camps is said to be tactical and not willing to make or pronounce publicly the would- be, but the competent sources offered that the choice of a possible running mate would be tactical for the task ahead.
It was learnt that Ihedioha who is from Owerri zone is heading to Orlu zone to pick a deputy should he whether the storm and emerge PDP governorship candidate. Ihedioah campaign sources revealed that the member representing Ngor/Okpala/Aboh Federal Constituency is in a tight corner for the choice but may do the needful to make his dream come true. Ihedioha is said to be in a fix picking from the camp of the Senator representing the zone, Chief Hope Uzodimma and that of former governor, Chief Achike Udenwa.
Trumpeta learnt that Ihedioha has been in the good books of those in Udenwa’s camp until recently he closed ranks with that of Uzodimm.
To be on a safe side, Ihedioha was said to have made a volte face to give each of the camps equal attention and treatment. Trumpeta learnt that having gathered a reasonable chunk of the delegates from Owerri zone expected to decide who is PDP candidates for the 2015 election, the Deputy Speaker is dangling the running mate can not to the Uzodimma group believed to be incharge of the Orlu zone delegates. At the end of the primaries, Trumpeta was informed that majority of the delegates from the 12 LGAs of Orlu zone are Uzodimma’s product and will likely determine who among the aspirants will be the governorship candidate.
To sail through, the Ihedioha campaign team, known as project 2015, is said to have opened negotiations with the Uzodimma group to form a powerful synergy. Though names have not been made public but strong allies of the Senator like Hon Mrs Oyibo Nwaneri, a former lawmaker of the Imo State House of Assembly and one time PDP woman leader, the Vice Chairman of PDP, Orlu zone, Chief Greg Madu, Speaker Emeritus of Imo Assembly, Rt Hon Goodluck Nanah Opiah and Chief Peter Mgbenwelu, are considered appropriate.
Another source from the Ihedioha team dismissed the report stating that the Deputy Speaker is yet to say anything in that. For now, we are working towards the primaries than be disturbed by unwarranted distractions like the issue of Deputy Governor or running mate” he added.
Ohakim is another aspirant said to be exploring the running mate actor to shore up his chances. Several are said to have been lined up for the position. Some guber aspirants from Owerri may have been approached to surrender their ambition and join the Bring Back Ikedi Ohakim crusade and be considered deputy governorship candidate.
Efforts to reach Ohakim was impossible but a reliable source was of the opinion that nothing is impossible in party politics especially now the primaries to select candidates are coming up in few weeks time.

Revealed: Reasons Why Imo PDP Is Delaying Release Of Delegate Lists

PDP LOGOS
Fresh facts have emerged reasons why the Imo State arm of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, is yet to make public lists of names of those selected in their various wards as the three-man ad-hoc delegates for the 2015 election primaries.
Trumpeta was informed by top party sources at the state secretariat that some factors are behind the present situation.
While confirming that the official list will be publicized any moment, the party is of the opinion that certain factors need to be considered before making it public.
According to the sources, complaints from different quarters which needs to be properly handled as well as the need to contain outpouring grievances can be said to be responsible.
“We are being careful about it to avoid implosion. You know this is party politics”, began a top official of the party who preferred anonymity, over the issue.
“You know complaints have been trailing the exercise and as a party with the interest of all members we are handling the issue to please all. The congress has come and gone, it behooves on members to take the outcome in good faith them unnecessary bickering.
There is no more ahead and we have a tough battle too, he added.
Confirming the development, the new publicity secretary of the party in the state Hon Kizito Onuoha in a telephone chat disclosed that the list may have been out but the party chairman, Chief Nnamdi Anyaehie is still in Abuja handling the matter concerning delegates.
Onuoha, however charged aspirants to go about their normal activities of canvassing for support from delegates adding that the official delegates list will be made available and displayed.
“The state party chairman, Barr Anyaehie is in Abuja for that purpose, as soon as he is back, the Delegate list will be officially made public,”, he noted
