My Parents Forced Me – More Confessions Of 13 Year Old Female Suicide Bomber

My Parents Forced Me – More Confessions Of 13 Year Old Female Suicide Bomber
The 13-year-old suicide bomber who was arrested has told her own side of the story. She says she did it under duress, after her parents
dropped her at the Boko Haram Camp.According to the Nigerian Tribune ,she was arrested in a hospital where she was being treated after a commercial tricycle operator alerted security agents that a female suicide bomber dropped an unknown exhibit in his tricycle. The security agents, who immediately swooped into action, subsequently arrested her.
However, Zarau, while giving an account of how she joined Boko Haram, said,
‘‘my parents took me to the Boko Haram training camp in Bauchi, where one of the trainers asked me if I wanted to go to paradise, in my reply to him, I gladly told him that I will like to enter paradise.
He told me I have an assignment to carry out in Kano, then, after the necessary training, he told me that I and two other female bombers will travel to Kano to execute the assignment, so after the execution of the assignment, she will now be entitled to make paradise.
‘‘But I was told that I would have to die before entering into paradise. The man further stated that I will have to carry bomb and die, but I said I cannot do it, he then declared that it is either I accept to do the work or they dug the ground and bury me alive.it was at this point my father stepped forward to persuade me to play along, and told me to prepare to die as martyr and clear the way for him to join me soon”Afraid to be buried alive, because I saw many that were being buried alive, I resolved to abide by the order out of duress. When we got to Kano, they took us straight to Kantin Kwari Market. When it was time for the execution, we were told to to divide ourselves and take position. The other two female suicide bombers detonated their concealed bombs in their bodies, as we were all wearing hijab, while on my part, I vehemently refused to ignite mine, as a result of my closeness to the two female bombers, I was injured on my left leg by the explosion.
“Due to the injury I sustained, I shouted for help, the commercial tricycle operator, who sympathised with me, took me to Dawanau, where we resided with my parents before. However, before I dropped from the tricycle, I successfully removed the concealed bomb in my body and left it on the seat of the tricycle.
“When the tricycle operator saw the exhibit on the seat, he immediately dashed into the house where I was taking treatment and asked me whether I am the owner of the exhibit and I replied him, yes, it is mine. At that time, I was about to be taken to the hospital, so before the tricycle operator alerted the security agents, I was already in the hospital, where I was being treated for the injury I sustained from the explosion. That was how I was arrested by security agents at the hospital.
According to her, “my parents commissioned me into Boko Haram activities, because I did not know where they were taking me to. They handed me over to one of my trainers.’

Keshi to Remain in Charge of Eagles or Not- The NFF Discord

There are discordant views among Executive Committee (ExCo) members of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) as regards renewing Stephen Keshi’s contract as Super Eagles boss at the moment.
A section of bosses at the helm of the Nigerian football family are understood to be open to the idea of handing Keshi a new contract, but faces opposition from a majority, who insists that an “unanimous decision” to sack the 52-year-old in October should remain binding.
The former Togo and Mali coach was dismissed by the NFF but was later reinstated on the orders of Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan.

Nigeria eventually missed out on qualification for the 2015 Africa Cup on Nations (Afcon) in Equatorial Guinea under the reprieved Keshi’s tutelage. Several top coaches including Shuaibu Amodu, Christian Chukwu and Adebgboye Onigbinde have asked the coach to bow out honourably because he has failed. The section of the NFF working tirelessly to ensure Keshi retains the Eagles job are believed to be acting so as to help them keep their own plum jobs- with the notion that this could foster relationship between them and Keshi’s top notch “friends”.
Moreover, the sports minister’s decision to directly pay the coach 14 million Naira as salaries for the months of October and November has not helped mend bridges between the coach and top football chiefs, who now feel slighted.

Jonathan Has Politicised Boko Haram, Condones Corruption – Osinbajo

Yomi OsinbajoThe All Progressives Congress, APC, Vice-Presidential candidate for the 2015 presidential election, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has said that one of the fundamental problems confronting the country is the inability of President Goodluck Jonathan-led Federal Government to tackle corruption.
Osinbajo stated this during a Twitter chat tagged #AskProfOsinbajo on Monday.
The vice presidential candidate noted that it was saddening that under Jonathan’s government, “there is no consequence for corruption”.
He added, “One of the fundamental problems is that there is no consequence for corruption. I think that what everyone will agree to about a Buhari government is that it will not tolerate corruption.
“If the number one citizen has a clear and uncompromising anti-corruption stand then the anti-corruption policy will work. If the number one and number two citizens have a strong stance on anti-corruption, then our policy can succeed”.
Osinbajo added that a Muhammadu Buhari Presidency would bequeath to Nigerians a country where everyone would have a good job and lives a descent live in peace security.
He also accused the Jonathan administration of politicising the fight against the Islamist sect, Boko Haram.
Osinbajo argued that the present administration had failed to “sincerely identify” the menace posed by the insurgent group.
Osinbajo, who is a professor of law and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, also blamed the failure of the security forces to contain the excesses of Boko Haram in the on-going war against terrorism on corruption.
“The current administration has politicised Boko Haram. The corruption around defence funds has created a situation where soldiers are not well equipped and motivated.
“General Muhammadu Buhari wiped off Maitatsine, another Islamic insurgency during his administration, by sincerely identifying the problem as a challenge to the authority of the state to maintain law and order.
“The administration took command and funded the military transparently and that is what we need to do now to end this insurgency”, he said.

Rivers Not Funding APC – Amaechi

Rotimi-Amaechi
Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi has denied rumours that his government sponsored the All Progressives Congress (APC) with N17 billion.
Amaechi, who spoke, yesterday, at the flag off campaign for Dakuku Peterside, the governorship candidate of the APC in the 2015 elections at the Liberation Stadium in Port Harcourt, urged the public to disregard the baseless allegation.
“APC is a big party that is also fast growing. As a big party, it is capable of sponsoring itself to any height,” he said.
The governor said he had never use the state’s money for anything different from the development of the state. He therefore challenged Prince Tonye Princewill, the governorship aspirant of Labour Party, who is accusing him, to prove the private account that was used to pay the money to APC.
He expressed disappointed at Princewill’s accusations, saying, that graduates of the University of Port Harcourt do not make baseless accusations that cannot be proved.
“I am saying it clearly that Rivers State cannot fund APC. APC is a big party that can sponsor itself. Tonye Princewill should tell the people the private account that I opened and paid the money into.
“I said they should call all UNIPORT graduates for a meeting because Tonye is also a graduate of the institution. He should reason like a graduate of that great institution, because a UNIPORT graduate cannot make a false accusation without bringing any evidence.
“He is my friend and brother, I will not deny him. He has a right to his ambition, so today he is in another party and the election is between us and them and we believe we will win,” Amaechi said.

Troops Kill 80 Boko Haram Militants, Lose 2 Soldiers In Borno

Boko-Haram
Suspected members of the Boko Haram sect laid ambush for Nigerian troops along the Maiduguri-Damboa road which was closed down for motorists since July, but they were dealt a big blow, with at least 80 of them killed. Two soldiers however died in the clash.
Vanguard gathered that the clash occurred, weekend, when some military personnel attached to 7 Division of the Nigerian Army were on their way to Damboa, the headquarters of Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State.
“Military personnel were on their way to Damboa to give security cover to the staff of Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) who were in Damboa to repair some destroyed electric cables along Maiduguri-Damboa road but they were ambushed by insurgents, leaving two soldiers and over 80 terrorists dead over the weekend,” an impeccable source told Vanguard.
“As the troops were moving towards Damboa, one Boko Haram terrorist suddenly appeared from the bush with a female by his side both armed with AK-47 rifles and confronted the troops who immediately killed both of them. But unknown to the troops, many of the terrorists were hiding by the road side.
“As the troops approached, the insurgents fired a Rocket Propelled Grenade, RPG, at one of the troops’ vehicles killing two soldiers.
“The troops immediately responded and engaged the terrorists in a gun battle, and when they realised that they were overwhelmed by the troops, the terrorists started running into the bush before they were pursued by the troops who killed almost all of them,” a security source disclosed to Vanguard. He added that he personally counted 80 corpses of the insurgents.
According to him, the troops also destroyed three Hilux vehicles mounted with anti aircraft gun and another one belonging to Yobe State government believed to have been snatched in a recent attack on Damaturu. It was loaded with Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), as well as many motorcycles.
The ambush makes it the third time troops were attacked while trying to ensure electricity was restored to the area after power infrastructure in the area has been destroyed in Boko Haram attacks. The last attempt to fix power was also met with an attack that led to the death of 75 insurgents.

Didi Ekanem Claims She’s “Gat” The Biggest Bum In Nollywood

Fast rising actress, Didi Ekanem has said she knows she has the biggest bu#m in Nollywood. In this one on one interview with Vanguard newspaper, Did says her b#um has put her through crazy things like, people focusing more on her b#um than her talent, like a day a mad man grabbed her b#um and refused to let go and of course how she tries are possible best to always use the b#um well. She also says everyone loves s*ex and should be allowed to participate in the game as many times they want it in a day. I love s*ex, I won’t even pretend about it, everybody loves s*ex, she said.
How do you feel having one of the biggest b*ums in Nollywood? It’s a good feeling and a wonderful one. But I won’t lie to you, as much as I love it so much, I just wish people would focus more on my talent than my b#um. All the concentration out there is on my b#um not my talent. I would honestly wish people to see me as a talented actress not a sexy one. But my b#um is not allowing people to see me deep down, to see the person and the talent. Can you let a guy grab your b#um in a movie?
Of course, in Jump and Pass, a guy tapped my a#ss. If it has to be real, there’s nothing there, it’s just grabbing my b#um.
What’s the craziest thing somebody has done to you on its account?
Craziest thing? A mad man actually grabbed my b#um in public, while walking on the road. That’s like the craziest thing, what else can possibly be crazier than that? I was just passing, I wanted to get something and next thing, he just walked up to me and grabbed my b#um from behind. When I turned, he was still holding it like a mad man and I screamed, I ran, left my shoes and everything. People just stood there and they were just laughing.
You are very flexible with your b#um?
Of course, I use it very well
How often do you feel people should be having s*ex?
As many times as you want; if you want to have it 100 times a day, good for you
You encourage it, you love it?
Who doesn’t love s#x? I’m not going to sit here and tell you I don’t like s*ex. Everybody loves s*ex; it is just natural so I’m not going to pretend I don’t like it. For me, I’m a very busy person so I don’t have that time to even enjoy it as much as I should or have it as much as I should.
But you still enjoy it when you have it?
Of course, anytime I have the time for it, of course, I do
What’s your favorite se#xual position?
Every position goes, as long as I can feel what I want to feel at that point in time. Every position is fine.

Felly_Minimah_Boko_Haram

She asked them to continue to pray ceaselessly for divine intervention towards an end to insurgency in the north east part of the country and elsewhere.

Man City win to move level on points with Chelsea

David Silva scored twice

Manchester City showed their title credentials as they swept aside Crystal Palace’s threat to draw level on points with League leaders Chelsea.
Jason Puncheon had a chance to hand the visitors a surprise lead very early on, but his left footed shot from outside the box was blocked. No sooner did James Milner find Yaya Touré, however, his effort was too high.
The home side found the first initiative in the second half, with the returning David Silva getting his name on the scoresheet. Pablo Zabaleta pass met the diminutive Spaniard in the box, his tame shot was deflected to the bottom corner to send the home fans into raptures.
David Silva scored twice
It got even better for the 28-year old, as he was at the end of a Aleksandar Kolarov cross following a corner to double the advantage.
The pressure from Manuel Pellegrini’s boys was telling and it was only a matter of time before they sealed the victory. Milner found Toure inside the box, and the Ivorian buried his effort into the top left corner.
Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini: “It was a very good win. A very good performance. I enjoyed the way the team worked the whole week – to work in a different way without strikers.
“Palace are a team who know how to defend. It was a great job to score three goals. They are also dangerous on the counter. We had two clear chances in the first half – the way we had chances is by moving the ball. David Silva is a top player with lots of quality. We are not just Sergio Aguero – we work hard every day. We have strikers out and Vincent Kompany is injured.
“I did think December is a key month to be in the fight for the title, and if you want to be involved you must be very near the top of the table. I hope we continue playing like this. The fight for the title was not just one team. There are so many games in November and October. We must continue working.”

Fred Amata Is Happy For My New Marriage – Ibinabo Fibresima

6GIPtwn2dhtfXWwG3iSgln1h

The beautiful actress and IGN president opened up to Thisday and revealed that her former lover Fred Amata is happy for her as she ties the knot with her new love.
Ths is the first time that the mother of three has gotten married and she spoke of her relatioship with her ex Fred Amata.
Excerpts:
What’s the secret behind your beauty?
Wow. I know am blossoming but that is what happens when you are in love. I have found my soul mate, my friend, my brother and that’s why I am glowing.
How did you feel when you noticed you are crazy about him?
Well, it’s not that I suddenly found that love. The love has been there and we have been best of friends since our school days at University of Ibadan and when we met again years after, we remained best of friends. His kids and mine have always been wondering how both of us can be this close, almost like a brother and a sister. I think the kids planned it; they were like why don’t you two just get married and we started thinking. After a while, we felt this is God telling us its time and that’s it.
Can you share the experience of how he proposed to you?
(Laughs) He is an Igbo man oh! I think the kids planned it more than we did. That’s how it is because the day he asked me, my kids were calling. His kids too were calling and they were all abroad while we were in Nigeria. So everybody was eager to know my reply. His kids were like, ‘Daddy, have you asked her?’ My own kids too were also calling to say, ‘Mummy, hope you said yes?’ (Laughs.) It was a beautiful moment and everybody was happy.
What drives you crazy about him?
He looks after a woman very well. He adores me and he is a family-oriented person. He loves his family. He loves us totally and he is very committed to his work. He encourages me a lot in what I do and we pray a lot. We have the fear of God which is paramount in our relationship. I think we are heading in the right direction and of course, with my kind of lifestyle and the kind of work I do, every man will withdraw. But no, he is always there, giving me the strength, support and ideas to improve on what I am doing. So, I really do admire him.
You have tried to settle down several times in the past, why did the efforts fail?
I believe God wanted a better man for me that is why my past relationships failed. Besides, my previous relationship did not work because I was not patient enough. I tried my best to make it work. I prayed severally and I wept. I even went the extra mile just to make it work, but I never knew God had a better plan for me. I did all I could to have a man I can call my own but God knows best and his reason are unquestionable. Until I found my man, I have never enjoyed my relationships. Marriage to me is supposed to be enjoyed not endured. That is the major reason why I am settling down with someone that understands me properly. My man is very romantic and caring. That is what I asked from God and he gave it to me.
How is your relationship with Fred Amata, the father of your kid?
I can never ignore Fred. He is my daughter’s father and a wonderful friend. I will never disrespect him. Even if I am with a man, I must always walk up to him and greet him. Some people wouldn’t do that. I have seen people who got separated and divorced and they don’t speak to each other in public. I will never do that. Even if we had quarreled before the event, I would still walk up to him and greet him. He is still my true friend.
Is Fred Amata in support of your marriage?
Yes! Fred is aware of my marriage plans. He is not an enemy. Since marriage did not work out for the two of us. He gave me is support. He is very happy about it and I know he will continue to wish me well because we are still good friends. Fred is my daughter’s father. Yes, he knows about my marriage. He supports my marriage.
Will he attend your wedding?
Of course, yes! I have sent an invitation to him and I know he will come. But one thing you must know is that whether he is coming or not, the truth is Ibinabo is finally hooked for life.
Nollywood Actress,  and president of the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria, Ibinabo Fibersima will exchange marital vows with her fiancee, Uche Egbuka.

Family Of Seven Burnt To Death In Benue

house_on_fire.1

Tragedy struck at Ayankor, Gboko East, in Gboko local government area of Benue state when a family of seven, were at the early hours of Friday, burnt to death in a mysterious fire that engulfed their home.
An eyewitness told Vanguard that the inferno, which started at about 1 am, burnt the block of three flats, killing a man, his wife and their five children. Other occupants of the building however managed to escape. The man, Lawani Oye, was said to be a popular automobile panel beater in the area.
“The fire started at about 1am in Mr. Oye’s flat when everyone in the neighbourhood, including the victims of the inferno were asleep,” the eyewitness said.
“It was his wife and mother of the dead children who we popularly call Mama Tunde, who raised the alarm that prompted other neighbours to rush out of their flats and after failing to fight the strange fire however managed to escape.
“Our pain about this tragic and unfortunate incident is that the same woman who died with her family in the fire was the one who raised the alarm that saved others. They were burnt beyond recognition.
“The whole thing is still a mystery to neighbors and no one can, at this moment, ascertain the cause of the inferno but the only clue we have is that their generator was on that night and by the time we went round after the fire, we saw that a lantern was positioned very close to the generating set,” the eyewitness said.

5 Foods That May Hurt Male Fertility

Guys, you’ve heard the standard advice for protecting your swimmers: Don’t wear tight undies. Keep your laptop far from, well, your lap. Stop smoking ASAP. But there may be an even easier way to shield your sperm —  watch what you eat. “We’ve noticed that fertility has been decreasing over the past several decades. And guys want advice to improve upon matters,” said Dr. Ryan Terlecki, director of the Men’s Health Clinic for the Wake Forest University Department of Urology. “Most guys have never even heard that anything in their diet could impact sperm count.”
But the truth is, an emerging body of research suggests that the foods you pile on your plate may play a role in the number of sperm you have (count), whether they’re normally shaped (morphology), and how well they move (motility).
How that does that play out in the bedroom? “Sperm count is, of course, important, because if it’s not there, you’re not going to [biologically] father a kid,” said Dr. Paul Turek, president of the Society for Male Reproduction and Urology. “And I think sperm motility is more important than sperm count.” Although morphology is less firmly linked to fertility, it has been shown in a number of studies to influence reproductive success, said Audrey Gaskins, who researches nutrition and fertility at the Harvard School of Public Health.
Although the research is still new, one thing is clear: The foods that may pose a threat to male fertility are many of the same dietary culprits behind things such as Type 2 Diabetes and heart disease. That means you’d be smart to avoid them, regardless of whether you plan to make a baby any time soon. The following foods might get in the way of fatherhood:
1. Processed meats
Sure, meat is considered the ultimate man food — but if you eat the wrong kind, your sperm could be compromised. In a 2014 Harvard study, men who consumed the most processed meat — hamburgers, hot dogs, salami, bologna, bacon — had 23 percent fewer normal sperm than guys who ate it sparingly. In another 2014 study, published in the journal Epidemiology, the same researchers found that eating processed meat was associated with lower sperm count.
Interestingly, saturated fat intake — which has previously been blamed for poor sperm quality — wasn’t the nutritional connection. “We didn’t find a link with unprocessed red meat, so it seems to be something that happens in the processing that is detrimental to sperm quality,” Gaskins told Yahoo Health.
One possibility: Processed meats tend to house more hormonal residues than other meats, which could have potential reproductive consequences. “In the U.S., we allow more hormones to be administered to our cattle [than in the European Union],” she said. “So this is definitely one possible mechanism.”
Eat this instead: Want to boost your swimmers? Look to the sea: The same Harvard scientists found that men who eat lots of fish have, on average, a 51 percent higher sperm count than those who barely eat any. This link was strongest for dark meat fish, like salmon or tuna, although white meat fish, such as cod and halibut, had a positive effect, too.
“Dark meat fish have higher levels of omega-3 fatty acids,” which have been previously shown to boost healthy sperm, said Gaskins. The extra dose of vitamin D in dark-meat fish may also be a factor.
2. Full-fat dairy
Whole milk may leave you with a fraction of the healthy sperm you should have. Young guys who eat at least two servings of full-fat dairy — especially cheese and whole milk — per day tend to have fewer motile sperm, according to a 2013 study in Human Reproduction. Don’t blame the cows, though: Pesticides and other chemical contaminants in the environment, which are attracted to the fat in dairy, may be what leads to subpar sperm, the scientists say.
Eat this instead: You don’t have to ditch dairy altogether. Just switch your focus to the low-fat kind: Men who consume a couple servings of low-fat dairy — especially 1% or 2% milk — per day have 33 percent higher sperm counts and more motile sperm than those who eat little or no low-fat dairy, a 2014 study in Fertility and Sterility found.
One explanation: Low-fat milk may boost levels of insulin growth factor-1, a hormone thought to aid the cells that help produce sperm, the scientists say. “It’s not always the sperm themselves [that are affected],” said Terlecki. “Sometimes, it’s the supporting cells — those that create testosterone to nurture sperm development, and cells that guide the sperm toward maturation. We see those cells affected a lot, in terms of compounds that come from the diet.”
3. Non-organic produce
That fresh spinach may come with a side of pesticides — and your sperm could be the first casualty: In a study presented at the 2014 American Society for Reproductive Medicine Annual Meeting, which took place this week, men who consumed the most pesticide residues through produce had 64 percent fewer normal sperm and 70 percent fewer motile sperm than guys who took in the least.
Pesticides may throw your hormonal balance out of whack, which can interfere with your body’s production of sperm, said Gaskins. “We’re concerned about low chronic exposure, day after day at a low dose,” she said. “Our body slowly becomes unable to deal with these low-level impacts over time. This slowly leads to destruction.”
Eat this instead: We’d never suggest you eliminate produce from your diet — but you may want to consider shelling out the cash for organic fruits and vegetables, especially when it comes to these pesticide-laden picks: apples, strawberries, grapes, celery, peaches, spinach, sweet bell peppers, nectarines (imported), cucumbers, and cherry tomatoes. A 2014 Evironnmental Working Group study showed that these 10 fruits and vegetables have the highest pesticide load.
4. Alcohol
You booze, you lose — sperm, that is. Drinking alcohol may have a negative impact on sperm concentration and motility, according to a 2012 Brazilian study of men seeking fertility treatments. Why? Downing copious amounts of alcohol may lead to total-body oxidative stress, which is a key cause of male infertility, the researchers say. But one drink probably isn’t a problem: “In moderation, alcohol intake seems to have no effect on semen quality,” Gaskins said. However, as a new Danish study found, modest but habitual alcohol intake — slightly less than a bottle of wine per week — may compromise sperm quality.
Drink this instead: An occasional beer probably won’t do your body any harm, but if you’re constantly sipping on something (besides water), make it pomegranate juice. In a Turkish study, male rats given pomegranate juice on a daily basis experienced a boost in sperm count and motility. The purple juice is a rich source of antioxidants, like vitamin C, and although this was an animal study, past research has linked a high intake of antioxidants in men to better semen quality. “Men who eat a healthier diet with higher antioxidants — particularly from natural foods, as opposed to supplements — tend to have higher motility,” noted Gaskins.
5. Soda
Here’s yet another reason to kick the can: In a new study of 189 healthy young men, published in Human Reproduction, regularly drinking sugar-sweetened drinks — slightly more than a serving per day — was linked to poorer sperm motility. (Interestingly, this connection was strongest among lean men.) Sipping on sugary beverages — soda, sports drinks, sweet tea — boosts your odds of insulin resistance, which in turn leads to oxidative stress than can damage your sperm, the scientists say.
Eat this instead: If you need a shot of sugar, make it the kind found in fruit — not soda. In the Brazilian study, fruit was positively related to sperm quality, although, keep in mind, you should go organic whenever possible (or give your fruit a good scrubbing before eating it).

Femi Fani-Kayode Calls Maj. Gen. Muhammed Buhari Out On Boko Haram And Religion

Femi Fani-Kayode, former Aviation Minister and now political and social critic has questioned APC flagbearer Major General Muhammadu Buhari’s credibility going into the 2015 General electionsFani-Kayode extensively and intensively looked through the actions of the former president and decided to illuminate us on the former army man’s action.
Read and enjoy.
The forces of light shall surely prevail over the forces of darkness and God’s counsel alone shall stand over Nigeria. I stand with Jonathan and I say ‘’lets dance’’, ‘’lets get it on’’ and ‘’may the best man win’’.
Yet whilst doing so we ought to consider the words of Miss Dora Ade Bentley. On December 11 on her Facebook wall, she wrote the following: ‘’Jihadi groups killed more than 5,000 people last month, with Iraq topping the league table of deaths, followed by Nigeria, Afghanistan and Syria. In 664 incidents recorded in November by the BBC World Service and researched jointly with King’s College London, the overall death toll was 5,042, or an average of 168 deaths per day and nearly twice the number of people who were killed in the 11 September 2001 attacks on America. After Iraq, Nigeria, Afghanistan and Syria, Yemen was fifth in the deadly league table, tying with Somalia, with 37 incidents each’’.
All these and some people still say they don’t know who they want as President? An individual once said, only last year, that ‘’an attack on Boko Haram is an attack on the North’’; in 2001, that he wanted to ‘’spread Sharia throughout the federation’’; that “Muslims should only vote for Muslims’’; that ‘’why should Christians be concerned when Muslims cut off their limbs under Sharia”; and that ‘’after all the limbs that are being cut off are Muslim ones and not Christians; so why should the Christians bother about it?’’
Since some are partial to Buhari, let us subject him to a little scrutiny right here and now. Let us put a few questions to him.
Let us judge him by what he says and does.
On July 22, 2014, he told The Nation Newspaper: “Our country has gone through several rough patches, but never before have I seen a Nigerian President declare war on his own country as we are seeing now. Never before have I seen a Nigerian President deploy federal institutions in the service of partisanship as we are witnessing now. Never before have I seen a Nigerian President utilize the common wealth to subvert the system and punish the opposition, all in the name of politics. Our nation has suffered serious consequences in the past for egregious acts that are not even close to what we are seeing now. It is time to pull the brakes’’.
One may have been prepared to accept the general’s words as being those of a genuinely concerned and committed patriot who simply wanted our President and his government to do a better job and who was worried about the unfolding situation in our country if he had not consistently exposed his true colors and his obvious soft spot for Boko Haram.
Permit me to share just one example of the expression of that soft spot in this contribution. On June 3, 2013, Thisday Newspaper’s lead story carried the following headline: ‘’The military offensive against Boko Haram is anti-North – General Muhammadu Buhari’.
The story ran as follows: ‘’Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari has criticised the declaration of state of emergency in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe States and the subsequent military offensive against the Boko Haram Islamic sect. Buhari, who featured on the “Guest of the Week,” a Hausa programme of the Kaduna-based Liberty Radio, yesterday, said the Federal Government’s action was a gross injustice against the North. According to him, unlike the special treatment the Federal Government gave to the Niger Delta militants, the Boko Haram members were being killed and their houses demolished. He said he was not in support of the declaration of state of emergency in the three north-eastern states because President Goodluck Jonathan had failed from the outset in addressing the security situation in the country’’.
The implications of these comments, coming from a former Head of State, are obvious and self-evident.
Yet that same General Buhari who said these unacceptable things one year ago is now busy pontificating about his concerns for our nation. Many would argue that, that is pretty rich coming from him given his past comments about a ruthless group of terrorists who, more than any other, merit the award for the greatest ‘’troublers of our nation’’. Given this, I regard Buhari’s comments to The Nation Newspaper on July 22, 2014 as nothing but self-serving.
Of particular interest to me were the following words: ‘’Never before have I seen a Nigerian President declare war on his own country as we are seeing now’’. Really? Correct me if I am wrong but I thought that the war that President Goodluck Jonathan has declared was against terrorism and Boko Haram and not against the Nigerian people.
Questions begging for answers
Does General Buhari find it difficult to make a distinction between the jihadists and the Nigerian people? Does he see them as being one and the same? Does he actually equate members of Jama’at ahl as-sunnah li-d-da’wa wa-l-jihad with the Nigerian people? Does he regard the military offensive against Boko Haram as being an offensive against OUR people? Does he honestly believe that anytime that a Boko Haram terrorist is killed by our armed forces and security agencies or that his house is blown up, it is an attack on the Nigerian people or an assault on the North? Are those people that Boko Haram slaughtering, terrorising, abducting, pillaging, robbing and raping on a daily basis all over our country not the real Nigerians?
Does he honestly believe that Boko Haram is representative of the thinking of our people or even the majority of the people in the Muslim North?
Is he still insisting on having another Muslim as his running mate in order to establish his strange dream of a Muslim/Muslim President and Vice President for our country or has he shelved that idea due to public resentment and outrage? Does he have any empathy with the Christian community in northern Nigeria for the immense suffering, degradation, humiliation, contempt, shame, indignity, persecution and mass murder that they have been subjected to in the North for the last 53 years and particularly in the last few years?
Does he still believe that ‘’Christians should not worry when Muslims chop off their own arms and hands in the name of Sharia because it is none of their business’’ as he said in 2001? Does he still believe that Boko Haram members should be forgiven, granted amnesty, pampered, sent abroad to learn and given monthly allowances like the Niger Delta militants like he suggested in 2013?
If the truth must be told, the only thing that is worse than Boko Haram are those in the Nigerian political class that secretly support and covertly assist them.
More attention should be paid by the masses on issues that make or mar the country we claim to love,

Nigerian Government Buys 77 T72 Tanks To Fight Boko Haram

Don’t know how authentic this is so I’m going to post it exactly the way it was sent to me. Find below
Find attached a pic of recently acquired T72 tanks by GEJ administration to tackle BH. The soldiers moral are so high now because these T72 tanks purchased from Ukraine are Anti-IED, Anti Missile and are indestructible unless shot by another tank.

They were purchased as part of the utilization of the 1Billion dollar loan and 77 were bought and are being distributed in the trouble area. Now boko haram are fleeing and they are now setting IED’s everywhere but apparently they cant destroy the Tank.
Last week, BH loaded a Toyota Starlet and while passing like passengers, they ran into one of the tanks and made a huge hole on the ground and killed 5 soldiers but the soldiers inside the tank were not even scratched.
It is their massive IED attack where they plant IED and run away and while combing the area  Major Umar was killed. A gallant Officer. But with these Undestructable tank, One soldier can confidently drive into BH Territory and cause havoc without a scratch.
I can confidently tell you that 6 BH Tanks have been destroyed by our troops in Yola. BH days are over, attach is a pix of 14 tanks deployed to Adamawa. I decided to share this pix after watching the massacre on the Bridge you posted yesterday
These tanks are all computerized and they use GPS to locate and shoot, that means if you feed it a beacon location on land it will destroy it, it is that accuraate. The triggers are also computerized buttons.

At 37, Timaya explains Why He is Too Young to Get Married

Timaya on BellaNaija.com 01
Egberi Papa 1 of Bayelsa Timaya is not feeling the pressure to tie the knot with any special lady in his life.
In an interview with Punch, the musician explains that although he is 37, he is not ready to sacrifice his time.
“I am not yet ready to get married and anyone who is looking for that is only being deceived because I am too young to get married. Marriage is not all about money and nobody knows what I have in the bank because they are not my accountant. Musicians lie a lot, so don’t believe most of what they tell you.
They are only trying to ‘package’ themselves. I am not prepared for marriage because I am not yet ready to sacrifice for any woman, I am sorry. My daughter is my life and I love her so much but marriage is not on my mind. I don’t want a situation whereby I will tell a woman I want to travel somewhere and she would be complaining.”

amaechi Appointed Presidential Campaign Director Of APC

Buhari-AmaechiThe All progressives Congress, APC, has appointed Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers state, the Director General of its presidential campaign organization.
The appointment of Mr. Amaechi was contained in a statement by the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Lai Mohammed, on Thursday in Abuja.
Full text of the statement below:
The All Progressives Congress, APC, has named Gov. Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State as the Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Organization, which will drive the party’s efforts to win the 2015 presidential election.
In a statement issued in Lagos on Thursday by its National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed, the party said the announcement followed the hugely successful convention at which its presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, was democratically elected, and the follow-up successful choice of his running mate, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN.
It said Gov. Amaechi’s outstanding reputation as a man of courage, principle, strength of character, decency and love of country, as well as his administrative prowess and organizational skills combined to fetch him perhaps the most important task in the quest for positive change in Nigeria.
APC thanked Nigerians for their support and prayers toward the success of the convention, the emergence of Gen. Buhari as the APC presidential candidate and the choice of Prof. Osinbajo as his running mate.
The party said it believed it had lived to its promise to Nigerians to ensure that the choice of its presidential running mate would be made within the context of the best democratic ideals, considering the enormously-positive reactions from the general public to the choice of Prof. Osinbajo.
“With a presidential candidate that has rekindled the hopes of the citizenry and revived their belief in democratic ideals, we believe we must also choose a running mate that will complement the sterling qualities of the presidential candidate. We must confess that the choice was a tough one, considering the array of eminently-qualified and outstanding candidates that we had to choose from.
“Yes, we were spoilt for choice but, in the end, we picked as running mate a man whose pedigree, nationally, sub-regionally, regionally and globally, attests to the fact that our party, the APC, is a repository of high quality leadership materials, and that our country, Nigeria, has no shortage of the very best human resources”, it said.
APC said whether in the academic, legal or ecclesial world, Prof. Osinbajo stands much taller than his physical frame, and serves as a good accompaniment to our presidential candidate, himself a man of such rare sterling qualities that have stood the test of time, qualities that are now so sorely lacking in our country’s leadership.
“Our presidential running mate is an award-winning professor of law, a legal luminary, a gentleman, a much-sought-after public speaker, a tested administrator, an author and a man of great ecclesiastical standing.
“Educated in Nigeria and the UK, Prof. Osinbajo is a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, who has served in many organizations and professional bodies in Nigeria, West Africa, Africa and the United Nations. He has authored or edited over a dozen publications, has taught and practised law at the high levels, and has served on the Editorial Boards of learned publications and non-legal publications, in addition to publishing many articles in learned journals.
“Now that we have presented Nigerians with the best possible choices for the exalted positions of President and Vice President, we expect that citizens, who have been yearning for quality leadership, will use their voting power to put Nigeria firmly on the path of greatness. A country seeking to be among the greats in the comity of nations cannot afford to have a mediocre leadership”, the party said.

Southampton 1-2 Man Utd: Van Persie Brace Move Red Devils 3rd

Robin van Persie’s brace sealed a fifth consecutive victory for Manchester United away to Southampton on Monday night.
A woeful back pas by Jose Fonte gifted the Dutch striker the opener. Graziano Pelle ended his five-game goal drought with the equaliser, blasting a rebound of Dusan Tadic’s shot into the net.
Van Persie prodded home a Wayne Rooney free-kick for his 140th career Premier League goal- the tenth player to reach the landmark in history.

The victory, the Red Devils’ second on the road under Louis van Gaal, saw them climb to third in the table, eight points behind leaders Chelsea.
Ronald Koeman’s Southampton have now suffered three defeats in a row and remain fifth on the standings. They have lost all nine points from a run of games against the two Manchester clubs and Arsenal.
For the first time in the English Premier League history, two Dutch bosses squared up from opposing dugouts and according to reports; signals of clash of character were imminent as both managers, who have not faced each other for almost eight years, returned from the ruins of tales of antagonism which has consumed football in the Netherlands for over ten years.
It was more than certain the winner of the extended Week 15 encounter will climb up 5 points behind second-placed Manchester City. Southampton were the better side for much of the game and deserved the acsent but Van Persie’s second strike just nicked it for the visitors.
Rooney returned to United’s starting lineup after missing last week’s win over Stoke City with a knee injury. Paddy McNair was deployed to the defence with Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia reverting to wing-back roles in Van Gaal’s famous three centre-backs system.
Koeman made two changes to the side that lost 1-0 at the Emirate Stadium as Maya Yoshida came in for the injured Toby Alderweireld and Saido Mane replaced Jack Cork in midfield.
As well as referee Kevin Friend’s kick-off whistle after the ‘Football Remembers’ formalities, both tactician did shook hands to quell tension a bit and assure football is in safe hands.
A cagey start… until Fonte gifted Van Persie the opener in the 12th minute. The defender hit a terribly tame backpass, which the United forward instantly latched onto and comfortably rounded Fraser Forster before rolling the ball through the goalkeeper’s leg into the net.

The circumstances surrounding the opening goal had barely sunk in for the visiting fans’, before watching Chris Smalling limp off, paving way for Evans to make his comeback since September 21.
Tadic and Mane began orchestrating a good spell for Southampton and when the former overhit a through ball to Pelle; warning signals were evident for United. Pelle then tested David de Gea on the turn from Tadic pass.

The hosts drew level right after half an hour, with Pelle finding himself in too much space inside the area following a sloppy pass from midfielder Marouane Fellaini; he rammed the ball in off the crossbar. Game On!
Van Gaal took time to miss up his formation a bit, introducing Ander Herrera for McNair, yet the 3-5-2 system seemed to have confused many of his players than enlighten. The Old Trafford club yet stuck to three at the back, but now with Michael Carrick dropping in alongside Evans and Marcos Rojo.
Both sides were contented to be leveled at half-time, deservedly so for Southampton.
The Saints got off to a better start in the second-half. Evans was lucky to be right on his guard to shield a sluggish Yoshida attempt.
The returning centre-back, who last week was only playing with the U-21s, careless lost possession few minutes later and an unmarked Shane Long had all the space to score from a Tadic cross, but forced a fine save from De Gea.
Pelle then fired over right in the face of goal after Rojo had conceded possession. After an hour of football, United were given away more and more early Christmas freebies, while Southampton became as clueless as unnecessary in the final-third.
United’s lack of confidence was summed up when captain Rooney booted a corner straight out of play, more to the home crowds’ delight, all whose mockery were encapsulated in a combination of laugher and jeers.
United regained the lead against the run of play in the 71st minute, when Van Persie snuck in at the far post to steer through Forster’s legs Rooney’s deep-reaching free-kick.
The goal revamped United’s game, with Van Gaal’s re-awakened men pressing forward for a killer goal. Southampton broke back with Pelle forcing a superb one-handed save out of De Gea with a rasping shot.
Aside some booking for Mane- for a wild tackle on Van Persie- and Rooney- for an unpleasant appeal to referee Friend- as well as Southampton substitute Emmanuel Mayuka’s unrelenting struggle to impact on scores; there was not to be a dramatic end; hence, United once again claimed a remarkable victory.
